How do I get involved?
The easiest way to get involved in team sports is to form a team on your own (you and a couple friends, perhaps the hall of your dorm, or the neighbors in your apartment complex). Student organizations such as fraternities and sororities as well as other campus groups often put together teams. To find out how many players you'll need for a complete team, browse through the sport's rules, available online.

How do I register?
Once you've got a team together, you'll need to register. So, when you do register? Well, each sport falls within a Phase of sports and has its own registration period. To find out when that is, check our IM Sports Planner for each semester. The Sports Planner is available online prior to each semester’s start so you'll have plenty of time to plan for upcoming sports. All paricipants desiring to play intramurals must creat an account through IM Leagues. This can be done by visiting www.imleagues.com/northgeorgia. Here, you will be able to register yourself, teams, and sign up as a Free agent. Only one person for your team will need to register your team. Rosters are not required at the time of registration, but we do advise making sure you have enough players to make a full team plus substitutes. Instructions for Registering can be found here and here.

What if my team is playing multiple sports?
There is a team manager meeting at the beginning of each semester that will cover the rules for every sport that semester as well as eligibility requirements for your players, and other IM policies and procedures. Have someone from your team attend this meeting and you will be exempt from all the captains meetings that semester unless your team no-shows out of a sport. The team manager meeting will last 2 hours and must be attended in full.

My team wants to win it all. Does the IM Office schedule practice times?
Since you're forming your own teams, you also coordinate your own practices. Practice as much or as little as you want, but Intramural Sports does NOT schedule timesor spaces for teams to practice. Outdoor field space is VERY limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
