This space is a common area between several high-rise freshman dormitories and is used for non-programmed recreation opportunities, special events, and programmed activities. It is known as "The Beach" due to its long standing use by students for sunbathing. One of the few outdoor spaces on the north side of campus, near the dormitories, that allows for both active and passive recreation as well as socialization opportunities. Approximate two acre sit consisting of 32,000 square feet of field turf surrounded by shaded grass areas, 2 basketball courts, and two sand volleyball courts.
